Age to change from crumbles to pellets?

My chickens are about six months old. Should I be feeding pellets already?

I have never had alot of luck with pellets. My hens ate start and grow till they were close to laying time, then I tried pellets. They just didnt seem to like it as well. I am guessing because the starter is crumbles. A few times later I got pellets at the feed store by mistake and they didnt eat them as well. So now I try to stay with laying crumbles.

If your question was refering to are they old enough, they are old enough to go off starter.
