Hiya
We've just introduced five new darling chooks to our established (1year old) three chooks. Connie is being really aggressive to the new ones, specifically picking on one (Murphy... who is so good natured).. but also pecks at the others. She tries to pull out their feathers and has actually jumped on top of Murphy who is now about 22 weeks old.
We have kept them separate in the run and have only once tried to integrate them there... so far we have let them free range so Connie hasn't got full reign, so to speak.
Background.. we kept the new five chooks in their own run for the first week then integrated all eight in the garden. I am so worried about them. I know we have to keep persevering with the integration in the chicken run, but it is horrible to see Connie attacking the others...they run away. There is one other of the established chook that is a tad aggressive but I reckon she would stop quite quickly... fingers crossed.
I have read we should segregate Connie... we only have two coops. I can't see how we could achieve that.
I'm at my wit's end... any suggestions, please?
Thanks in advance
