I got these “assorted ducks” at the beginning of March at a local feed store. Sadly one of them was killed by a dog. So We replaced the one with two (at the end of March), they got along fine. But now that they are all grown, two of the Drakes are aggressive towards a female that isn’t in there “group”. They are trying to mate but it is pretty aggressive. But they don’t fight either; they just are being aggressive with trying to mate. She is losing feathers on the back of her neck. But they leave the female that is in their group alone.

There are three drakes and two hens. The “group” consists of a pekin drake (Sprinkles) , a Black runner/mallard drake(Chester), a Blue Swedish Drake (Ave) , and a Mallard hen (Doofus). Poor Bandit is the lonely one she looks to be Black Swedish, maybe with some mallard or Rouen? She has a green shine to her head and purple feathers on her wings, with pretty lavender eyes :)
But about every other day she goes to our pond to hang out for a few hours by herself. Which will soon be fenced in so they can live there in peace :)

Will getting more females help with this?

. This is due to your drake ratio. You need at minimum 4 more ducks to keep your ducks from being overbred.

Adding more hens may help. A surefire solution would be getting rid of the two aggressive/competitive drakes. Such drakes gang breeding a hen, especially on the pond can injure or drown her.

They don't try to breed at the same, b ut when the do all go to the pond the "group" stays in the shallower area and Bandit swims everywhere but where they are. They do try to breed with her but she swims away and they are too lazy to chase her. They will go like five feet and then give up.

That's because they are still young. As they age they will most likely start gang raping her and could drown her on accident.

Yikes! Well hopefully we wont have to get rid of them but, if we have to we will.
Hopefully getting more hens will help.
