My head hen is particularly nasty to my silkie. She will chase her around, grab her and peck her. I separated the aggressive hen from my flock for about a week. My flock was honestly great without her. No one was bullied. I reintroduced her and she almost immediately went after my silkie. Is it time I consider re-homing this aggressive hen? I’m at a loss.

I am having this problem with a golden laced Wyandotte that will not accept two salmon Faverolles that were added about 10 months after the original flock started. She also doesn’t like the Polish she was raised with. She pulls feathers and pecks hard enough to draw blood. I tried isolating her for 7 days and the chicken goggles. She wouldn’t eat with the goggles on and I was feeling like a mean human. She‘s currently in a small enclosure by herself mostly - sometimes if I see the chicken she gets along with wanting to go in I let her in. She just seems to be a mean chicken. And her behavior makes the rest of the flock meaner when she is with them. The chicken she gets along with is a silver laced Wyandotte so maybe she’s not good in a mixed flock. Also I think I am giving too many treats (possibly throwing off their nutrition and making them a little heavy) so I am trying to be more disciplined about that. Anyway, it‘s been a problem I’m having trouble finding a happy solution for other than rehoming.
