I recieved my 15 plus 4 extra Black Japanese Bantam Chicks today . I have one aggressive boy that keeps going after a few of the other chicks pulling at there beaks , pulling and there wings there skin. I took him a way from them for a couple of hours and put him by himself . I put him back couple hours ago in the brooder . He seems to be ok at this time . If he continues this behavior what is the best way to handle the situation . If I sexed all of them correctly I only have 4 boys out of the 19 and he is picking on another boy . He is black the one he picks on the most has Black Heart on his head

What I am thinking is that this chick is curious. I have found that my newborn chicks peck at eachother, sometimes causing loud chirps, but they don't mean any harm.

For example, I had some chicks with a couple leg feathers and another chick was pecking on them and pulling, probably thinking it was something stuck to the other chick. After realizing it wasn't, they stopped altogether.

Maybe the chick thinks there is something on that chick that shouldn't be there.

Once he gets used to what the others look like and his new surroundings, things should go back to normal. I would mostly be worried if you see blood and/or injuries.
