I recently got 4 new chicks and they are now 4 weeks old. I have 2 australorps, an Easter egger and amethyst. The problem I have is one australorp is very aggressive towards the other 3 to the point the run from her. She is also larger than the other 3. I constantly hear them screaming as she pecks at them, pulls their feathers. So, what should I do? I don’t think this is a cockerel, but I can’t tel. I have tried to separate her out, but it did not help.

Hi! How much room do your chicks have? And do they have things to do - perches, lumps of soil to scratch, etc?

I read of folks who have had success giving the aggressive chick a "peck" on it's back (with your finger) when it picks on the others.

They have loads of room, stuff to scratch and roost bars. The pen is too big for me to give it a peck.

This is my little motley crew:
From left to right:
Louise (BR)
Gretchen (EE)
Thelma (BA)
Rocket ( SS)

Thelma and Louise are about the same size now. While Thelma seems to be the leader of the pack, she is super sweet to everyone.

Thought I would post a pic of Thelma from this afternoon to give you a comparison on comb size.....
