So This spring I got two straight run Smokey pearl chicks from tractor supply. Both have broke skin many times. One is aggressive to the point that if you pick him up he WILL bite any part of you he can get to. We are torn on what to do we don’t like culling animals. I am a teenager that’s pretty short- and they only attack me. Never adults. They are about 25 weeks old and crowing. We added a new small rooster and hen in there pen (21 week old mixed chicks) and they are trying to kill the little nice rooster. I’ve tried making him submit, showing him I’m the boss and nothing works. I’ve told me family I am up for culling them but they said they don’t want to. We have someone we can give them too but I just don’t want to make them someone else’s problem. Any advice? Also I’ve hatched a few chicks from them and their hens- does that mean the chicks will be aggressive? Thx in advance.

I’m a teen and short and I’ve found that if you keep fighting until they run away eventually they’ll start to understand that you are the bigger one. My rooster will shred my hands through the fence and spur me if I go in there but loves and protects all his guineas and hens so I don’t rehome him. If I go into the coop I take a sturdy stick with me or a tote lid as a shield. I’d clip their spurs as well and start learning body language so you don’t accidentally show signs of aggression and so you can attack first and be ready when they show signs of aggression

Thanks. My shoulder hurts real bad cuz the other day I picked one of em up and they pecked and wouldn’t let go. He was attacking me so I tried to put him in a different pen away from the flock. There’s a huge bruise. Thanks for your help :)
My rooster bit me on the face once while I was taking him inside for spur trimming

I must have bad luck with Roos that I get cuz my last one did the same thing as yours! Good lord hope your face is okay!
I was fine Im always covered in cuts and scratches from them and it really doesn’t hurt it just really surprises me how he acts like that even though I was like his dad always holding and being around him

Sorry to hear that. I'm a teen as well who's on the brink of 5ft. Our rooster is aggressive as well. I fight with him like @RiDaGeckoGuy does, he usually backs off. I also noticed that when I hold him and pet him, he is calm and doesn't bother anyone. It's like he's a spoiled baby
I’m 5ft 4 and my dads 5 9 and he will atack my dad more than me
