Personally, it's just a waist of time trying to tame an aggressive rooster. Just kill him and make a grave, or eat 'em.

There's an abundance of good roosters out there for cheap, or free.

Often the worst roosters are the ones who have imprinted on humans who raised them, and been ‘held and cuddled.’ I agree with those who say cull him.

Maybe its stress and wrong human behaviour that triggers the rooster to attack.

Much more room in the coop and run or free ranging can help a lot. If you are attached to him I would give him a second chance. If not, then culling is probably the easiest solution.

If possible keep him solitary without seeing the hens for a while. See how he behaves without the hens. Let him in the run again if the space is much better and there is less stress.

I agree that space might help, but chickens really don't wait till you can get it done, they have no concept of time, or things being better later on.

So, it might be better to let this one go, build bigger, and try another rooster if you want.
