Last week, my formerly calm rooster began to attack and become very aggressive. I have 4 Spitzhauben roosters that I raised and handled so they would be gentle. Last week out of nowhere one attacked me. Now, I can't go near the coop without being attacked. This is not characteristic of Spitzhaubens from what I've read. I bought a straight run of 5 Spitz and unfortunately 4 turned out to be roosters. Do I just have too many and they are competing to be the 'top dog'? They are too small for butchering right now, but I don't think I can handle the daily battle.

How old?

This happens I had a mean silkey... really little ankle-flogger...

How much room is there?

Can you separate the bad boy into a dog crate with food and water for time out?

I have three LF roosters and no one dares challenge me, I didn't handle them, they know I am not a rooster- there is no reason to challenge me.

Well, good luck.

They are about 4.5 months. We don't have a huge run for them but I let them free range much of the day. I can crate him, but I thought it might make him meaner. I'll give it a try though. Thanks.

there are other things like pinning him down till he calms down but that made mine meaner---

were goggles, long sleeves and pants, one hand at the hip one hand on the neck. (people swear by this one too)
