It tends to change...
My dove has started to do thing thing where she will start shaking and purring, then lunge at my mom. She'll even fly after her head.

I thought it was odd and have been researching why this behavior is happening. When it does, we try feeding her and giving her some water, but she's not always hungry. Is this aggressive behavior or something else?

That sounds like territorial behavior to me, my doves will chase my pigeons away from their nest that same way. Does she have a "nest" area that she's "defending"?

She seems to do it in different areas around the house. She could be defending her "nesting spots" that she's laid eggs at before. Her aggressiveness seems to only be directed at my mom, which is weird.

Thank you for your help!

She sees her ma as a rival for nesting areas.. As another female. Get her a mate even another female pigeon. Confine with nest bowl in each back corner of cage for them, for month, hopefully both s
Ame age or other older some, n then when nest, they'll only nest in those spots/bowls, stopping attacking her. A pigeon can take her eye/s out as have heard of and seen..
