Which means they stayed in that one spot all night long (10:00 p.m.) and all day while i was at work (5:30 p.m.). Crud.

so i candled. I have more duds but thats beyond the point. Of the few that actually look like theyre growing, a couple jiggle around when i candle em, but a couple stay in one place right up next to the shell. Are they stuck? Is that bad?

-gracias.

I'd just keep trying. My husband has unplugged my turner before a couple of times and forgot about it and all my babies turned out ok. Sending good vibes your way

Your babies could still be ok. It also depends on how far along they are in their development. Hopefully, they're ok. Even the ones you think are duds, I'd still hang onto them for a few more days. How many days are you into incubation?

Good luck to you and your chookies.

The only hatch I ever did was in a classroom....On the weekends I only went to the school once a day to turn them, throughout the entire incubation period....11 of 12 hatched, with only one stuck to egg and after a warm water bath, the piece of shell that was stuck came off and he was the most handsome of the group...(Most vocal too, not good in a school setting...LOL)

I just finished a hatch last week that I turned twice a day.. every morning and every night at around 8 give or take an hour or two depending on the day.. Not counting the infertile eggs, I had no problems with sticky or deformed chicks.. Everyone is looking great! I wouldn't worry about it... I read a university study on here somewhere that insisted that not turning at all resulted in a higher hatch rate than turning did... Not sure I want to go that far but turning twice a day worked for me..
