Well, we bought a bunch of putnam chickens and found out we got to roos. Well, one were going to trade with a freind for a chicken but I want to keep the other. He's the runt, slower than the rest, cant run well, cant fly well, basically cant do much and the kids are terrified our freind would make him chicken soup. Is there any way to keep a roo quiet? Were keeping smi fugitive chickens so quiet is key.

That maybe a difficult task as happy roosters love to crow. Ofcourse hens love to give shout outs upon laying an egg that is referred to the egg song. Chickens can go from quiet to loud to quiet again.

This just comes with owner critters.

Hmmm... seems unlikely. I have one roo that doesn't crow but he's the bottom of the pecking order. I'm quite sure that once I get rid of the rest, he will start crowing.

if he stays like maybe he won't be a crower.
