I am so nervous. My silkie had no fertile eggs when I candled them so I bought her some eggs. Of those only 1 was fertile and due to hatch sunday! I don't know what to do- do I leave my roos in with her, or do I take them out? Besides cleaning the coop and putting sm:jumpy:jumpyaller dishes in for the chick what should I do???? Please help me- I am so excited. I took day off from work!

I always keep my mama and new chicks separate from the other adults for a few days to protect the chicks. Then I start letting them out, and I'm always amazed at how protective the mama hens are of their babies. I've never had another bird hurt any chicks under mama hen's care. She won't even let the people touch them, if she can help it.

Good luck! I've got a silkie on a dozen silkie and bantam cochin eggs that are due tonight or tomorrow, and I'm right here excited and worried with you!
