I was just about to open the gate to the pen, with my egg basket on one arm and the puppy's leash on the other, when I focused and saw one of the hens hanging upside-down! And I had almost walked right in there with the puppy
So I yelled for my husband to hold the dog outside, and went in to the rescue. She had caught one nail in the hardware cloth on top of the hospital cage, and fallen over the side. I got her loose and set her down to rest. Wondered if she needed to spend some time inside the hospital cage, but she started walking after a while.
Turned out to be my favorite, too, the one who wants to be carried around all day. Very, very happy I found her in time!
