Hi all,

I’ve received 15 silkie eggs but only one started developing, now we are at day 20 - anxious to see any signs of pipping but no signs yet.
This is my first time hatching eggs and I think the air cell is very small compared to all the pictures on the internet. I’ll attach a picture of the egg with my marks. I don’t remember when I marked the first one but the last ring was made on day 17.

I hope you have a happy chick soon. Next time use a lower humidity day1-17. It may mean running the incubator without water those days. The eggs need to lose water for the air cell to grow.

Thanks, I did have it much lower the first 17 days. When I placed the egg in lockdown I raised the humidity. Today is day 21 and internal pip has happened, she is loudly chirping inside 😍
No external pipping yet.
I have luckily found a silkie farmer nearby who is expecting chicks this weekend and I’ll pick up a friend for her.
