I think my air cells are too small for 14 days. I have added a small amount of water about a week ago and none since. It is dry. Humidity has maintained around 45-50%. The first photo I marked 7 & 10 days to show the change. Others only have day 14 marked. If too small what can I do?

Great! That's interesting that your humidity is that high without adding a lot of water but you should be fine. I wouldn't add any more though. By lock down it should be just right. Good luck to you and keep us posted

Thanks. I will. I wonder if it would be because we have such high humidity here? (Tennesee). Maybe I need a dehumidifier next time. I just hope they are ok with their air cells being so small

I think you are right on track really with the air cell. You still have a few days left and I think it should be perfect. I have stressed over chicks that lost about half the moisture due to porous shells and they still hatched. Chicks are remarkable.

I was able to get the humidity down to 40% from 14 day candeling to 18 day and in most cases the air cells at least doubled, and now look a good size. I still have a couple with smaller than id like but may still be ok! We are now in lockdown. Praying that they hatch.

Good thread.

This shows why many folks have embraced the so-called dry incubation method. Many places, at different times, have adequate humidity that no added water is required for proper incubation. Most folks assume that the water slots need filling and even need re-filling along the way. In many, if not most cases that just isn't so.

You'll likely be fine. You've got another 4-5 days to bake them. Best wishes for a good hatch.
