Air sac question

My MIL's goose has been sitting on about 15 eggs, we didn't know if they had a male or not out of their 3 geese so we took a couple eggs to candle to make sure she isn't sitting on infertile eggs again. Sooooo, thinking we would see only yolks, we actually saw one with a dark mass, veins and and air sac. Imagine my surprise. Hubby was thrilled and wanted to put it in the incubator so we did. The air sac appeared to have the "dip" down the side, so I marked it and kept the side with the most air upwards. We keep rechecking these goose egg threads to see how far along this egg may be. We made a stronger candler and can see a little head, beak and wings moving around inside the egg

The gosling takes up about half the egg, the other half is veiny and fluid. The air sac no longer dips, but it is still "diagonal", sorry I can't think of a better way to describe it. I just don't now how far along this egg is! I feel a little

towards my fiance right now for making me incubate this egg haha, I would feel horrible if it didn't make it because of me!

So my question is, is there any time where the gosling will take up the entire egg without an visible fluid and veins? I'm trying to figure about how far along it is by how big it is. The goose has been broody for at least two weeks, probably more, but they are farm birds so no one keeps track of these things. All the appendages are distinguishable, but I would expect the little guy to be taking up a lot more room in his egg before hatching. I have not been turning the egg because of the position of the air sac. I also put in a dish of water for humidity because the air sac is plenty big according to Pete55's threads so I'm not worrying about that, but I do worry the little guy will pip and get stuck if I'm not ready for him to hatch.

Any thoughts?

nerrrrrvous wreck here

Thanks in advance guys

Hi

I dont think your egg sounds ready yet. Air cells do often slant diagonallyso dont be fooled. As critterranch said - you can do no harm to keep turning and simply wait for the shaowing or tapping noise to confirm internal pipping.
