I have ask this question before for a friends turkey hen with no real answer but now I am have the same problen with a young hen that is laying EVERY egg with the air sack on the side!!! Well I had set some of hers to check fertility and after 7 days candled to see this problem. and 3 of them are fertile and growing? Now with the turkey hen we never had any grow and I never set anymore of hers . So does any one have any idea will this go away or will it just be .

Are you sure they are that way on laying? Have you candled a fresh one? The air sac could just be loose and floats to the side because the eggs are set on their side. That happens a lot with shipped eggs. The air sac can then get stuck there after the egg sits for awhile. Setting the eggs upright until the air sac stops floating around will solve that problem.

If they are actually being laid that way I don't see anything you can do or any external condition that would cause it to happen repeatedly. They may still hatch but hatch rates will probably be much lower and I wouldn't actually want to keep any offspring from a hen that keeps doing that. Unless she's new to laying and the problem fixes itself as she gets older I just wouldn't hatch any of her chicks to keep.
