So...
Somehow, my amazing girlfriend Dora and I were able to land a bit of a dream house when it comes to renting, with a landlord that wanted a chicken coop of her own for years. She had no problems with our desire to build one, and had planned for the same location as well.
We run a photo booth business out of an Airstream trailer in Austin, and after rebuilding an Airstream... it was a no-brainer that we had to make a similarly themed coop.
It's been a bit costly, but it's been worth it so far. I'd plan that we're going to be up and running within the next week and a half.
Here is our whole part of the yard that is dedicated to the coop, you can see where we park our trailer, our pool, our vegetable garden, and a future fire-pit area.

Here is the original sketch of a basic concept.

This is the first part of the nesting box.

With the whole run...

Here is the general frame basically done.

This is where we left today, with all of the major walls nailed on.

And here is one of our wee one's, a Speckled Sussex named Pam, after Pam Poovey from the show Archer... hanging out on one of the two 4 foot long roosts made out of 2x2's that have had the top shaved/rounded with a box cutter and a hand sander.
