Albemarle county fair has NO BIRDS this year.... No chickens, no ducks

I went last night and was so disappointed. In previous years it has been so much fun to see all the different types of birds and animals!

This year - not so much. The mini goats were still adorable, the horses and cattle impressive. But no birds....

I think it is because of the avian flu outbreak in the Shenandoah Valley. All poultry was banned from shows this year.

I reserved 4 cages for our county fair. When I called they said they were just looking up what kind of chickens I would be showing because they couldn't remember Polish because no one had ever shown them. I told them I might be showing different kinds depends on what the 3 week old babies look like in September.

I can't wait for the fair.
