ALEX the ROO in the garage!! (pic)

My office is right beside the garage. The past few mornings I'v let the chickens out early. Alex comes in the garage and crows at the brooder boxes. Anybody got any ideas why he does this?

The brooders look empty though. Are there babies in there? Has he ever done that when there were babies in there? Its a cute pic.

There are babies in there. I have 18 guinea keets and 3 chicks. They run to the end you can't see when he crows.

Maybe he is showing them what big chickens do.

My brooders are in the basement right next to the big window. We have turkey poults in them right now. When the window is open the big turkey goes over to it and calls to them.

My rooster BIG RED did the same thing when I moved the little ones from brooder to outside cage. He does that until I let them out. Once I let them out he checks on them and goes back to his rooster job. I was very surprised how easy he is with them. I was afraid he would jump on or peck them. He even tries to go sun with them.

Soooooo....maybe your rooster is just checking on them and letting them know he is protecting them......just a little tooooo loud for them....
