Alfalfa pellets

W ould it hurt to give my chickens some alfalf pellets for this winter.... Being they dont get to free range , cause every thing is froze out here..... Would like youe imput on this .. thank u all Sure do love the site here....

I throw a handful of rabbit pellets in with my chicken feed once in a while. Most of the time, I just use bales of alfalfa for their greens.

They dont like alfalfa pellets too much, but if you add some water to them and let it sit until they get soft, they really go for that.

Thanks for input... the water is what i had in mind....To soak them, i need something for them that will help the egg yolks go back to orange, other wise they are fine, they have layed all winter like RIR machines.lol thanks sooo much
