alfalfa pellets

Does any one on here give their chickens alfalfa pellets for vitamin A and potassium? Some one know said they did this growing up with chickens but I've never heard of it until they mentioned it.

You mean like rabbit pellets? I also wondered if there is any benefit in giving my chickens some of my bunnies food...

I throw some out to them in the winter when everything green is gone. Mine do eat them, but I wouldn't say they like them a lot.

I garden/fretilize with them so I know they are getting some when they free range....
