Algea ON the waterer

Our homemade waterer (Plastic bucket and plant dish) gets a little coat of algea on it unless we clean it every 2 days, we try to do it just every 3 or 4 days. Should I add some vinegar or chlorine bleach to the water, 1/2 teaspoon or so? We live in the desert southwest where it is very hot.

Should I add some vinegar or chlorine bleach to the water, 1/2 teaspoon or so?

1/2 Tsp of Clorox or about 1/4 Cup vinegar should help.
It will also help if you can keep it out of the Sun​
