Hi I live in the UK, we went on holiday for 2 weeks and a neighbour looked after our chickens. (Very well I am sure- she has chickens of her own) Since we got back I’ve only had 2 eggs from 17 chickens. They are a mixture of breeds.
Some Polish, Silkies, bantam Cochins, a couple of rescues. One or two are moulting, a couple have just stopped being broody, a couple are too old, but it’s strange they have all stopped laying. Do you think it’s anything to do with our strange British weather? I’d love to know if anyone else is experiencing this?

I would think it has more to do with having less daylight hours. Plus, if you have a couple molting, the others are probably close behind. The other less likely thing could possibly be an opportunistic predator that has scared them since there was less supervision of them, but I'm thinking it probably has more to do with the season.

I agree with @Jener8or. We are in the midst of the time of year when, along with late March, the change between dark period and light period each day changes most rapidly. Where I live, about 3:02 shorter day and the same period of longer dark period. That is the signal to shut down producttion.
That causes molt, the combs and wattles to shrink and pale and the space between pelvic bones to shrink.
In central UK, it is about 4 minutes a day of more dark.
