I have 4 wyandottes, 3 hens (mouse, pickles and megan) and 1 roo (Jared omletto) In a 12ft shed with a 12ft run. My ladies hadn't gone broody in the almost 2 year I had them so I bought an incubator, loaded it up with 7 of my own chook eggs and 6 cuckoo marans from the interwebs. The day after I started the incubator off one hen started setting with 6 eggs (Pfft!) which I marked and then took out the new ones daily from the other 2 hens. Then the other 2 girls joined in and peck at me when I try to take out the extra eggs, So I let them get on with it, cuddling together in the box taking turns to go run around. The roo waits outside the nest box talking to whichever hen is sat closest. It has been around 21 days but no sign of the fluffies but I'm super exited. Does anyone have any experience with having 3 hens sharing babies and will it be okay to leave them in the coop with the roo? should I try and introduce the indoor bator chicks with the mamma hens or wait till there bigger and introduce them in? and will my 2 bunnies that live with the chickens get in the way?
