I want to start this thread so I can see and here all about our chickens at home.
I have 10 chickens total. 5 Salmon Faverolle hens, 3 Fav roosters, and 2 Dorking hens. They are 4 months old. They love to cuddle and follow me around when I work. There favorite treats are watermelon, pasta, tomatoes, purple grapes, my garden, and what ever they find out in the yard. One of my hens is mentally challenged, but is the sweatiest hen in the world, her name is Digger.
I would love to here stories and see pictures of your chickens. I will try to get pictures of mine on, but our computer is very slow. I'm looking forward to sharing stories of my other "family members" with everyone.

I hope so too. The computer is so slow and won't let us put pictures on.
Here's a new story I want to tell. I came home from working at the school all day and wanted to spend time before they went to bed. When I go around the corner, they all came running at me, they were so happy I came home. So I go out and find a clean spot to lay down at. They all come up to me and stare cleaning me. They pecked at my glasses and tried to take off the band aid on my arm.(one of them pulled it off, it stung so bad. I had to chase her down to get it from her. And I saw hair on it!) So I'm laying on the ground and look at my watch too see that they normally start going in the coop at that time(8:30). Then the next thing I know, my hen, JoJo, starts walking on my back and lays down. Than the next thing I know is 6 hens are piled on my back. Than the roosters see the hens and decide they want up too, so now I have 10 chickens on my back. They cleaned and then fell asleep! I layed there for 30 min, about, then I had to get up. I stand up and they are holding on for dear life, feathers were flying everywhere! A few climbed on my shoulder, the rest got down and went in the coop. Now I had the problem of getting them off my shoulder. I spent about a hour and a half trying to get them to bed. I think I will stick to sitting in chairs.
I would love to here stories of other chickens too! I will post a new story every day, and everyone cross your fingers so my computer will work so I can post a few pictures.

My chickens just love people in general. They love me the most, but love other people to come and pet and hold them. But the best way to get to my chickens is food. They love there food and treats. There favorite treats are watermelon, corn, pasta, purple grapes, and there favorite is tomatoes. They also eat my garden...and what ever they find in the yard.
I will try to post another story some time to day about my chickens and our pool.

Seance no one is posting about there chickens, I will still post about mine. If no one really wants to post, that's ok, I like people Herring about my chickens seance no one really wants me to tell them about my chickens, i thought this would be a good spot to tell others.(I had people at the fair telling me to get a life when they saw me talking to my chickens. What they don't understand is that I have a life because my chickens make everyday a fun day.)
The other day, we had people over to swim in our pool. The chickens herd my voice from the back yard and came running.(I could see there feet under the fence.) I looked around the fence to see what they were doing. They were just roaming around in the dirt. I thought they would be fine and wouldn't come back to the pool. But in 10min they all were in the back with us. They thought it was the coolest thing in the world because it was new tho them. On of the chickens decides it would be a good idea to go by the pool. I'm in the pool and see her walking up. When I get there, our dog runs behind her and scares her. She jumps and flys into the pool. I start panicking, but think fully she landed on a floating toy. Now we have to put up a fence so the chickens don't come back to the pool area, but they can still be in the dirt.

WHAT?!? people at the fair said that? Well you don't have to worry about that judgement here. I talk to my chickens every day. They may not quite understand what I am trying to say, but the effort they put into listening and making eye contact is better than many humans.

I was mad at them, but what am I going to do. I have 2 hens that love to come up and talk to me. One jumps on my lap and talks a lot, I respond to her too. The other jumps up on my shoulder and will sit there while I walk around and do work. I got my computer to work so I will try to post pictures tomorrow.

Sorry, got vey sick. I am feeling better right now, but won't take any chances. I will get everything set up to post pictures this weekend.
