I bought some fresh eggs today at the local fleamarket.
They looked nice, different shades of light brown.
Some different sizes and shapes.
They passed the float test, but 5 out of 5 that i cracked are DYs.

Anybody ever seen this before?

We used to stop at this little vegetable stand on the side of the road (Hwy 74/76) and they sold DY eggs and had several dozens. We bought 2 dozen and sure enough they were all DY. I don't know how they got them.

Pretty wild odds there! I know that when my BR's start laying I get a lot of DY's. Then they figure it out and start laying normal eggs. Too bad, we love the doubles!

I had a long run last year when a couple of the BO's in my layer house laid double yolkers all the time. Hasn't happened since then.

Its 6 out 6 DY now and they tasted good too.
I candled the 2dz that are left and 19 are DY and the other 5 are too dark to tell.
