Here's some pictures of our 5 3-and-1/2 month old chicks. We have 2 silkies, 1 buff brahma bantam and 2 red stars. The reds are supposed to be sex-linked, so I never worried about them being roos, but lately one has developed some longer tail feathers and her neck is a different color from the other. What do you all think?

First the silkies - Tara

both red stars are girls she is just maturing more

Rosie is definitely a girl, she is a red sex link- they are bred so that they can be color sexed- the roosters are white, hens are red with some white feathers. Your Brahma is also a girl, I am not sure about the silkies- I have never owned any. Very pretty flock!

Thanks!

Yeah, i knew that about the sex-linked which is why I never worried about the reds. But then when we noticed the tail feathers and shinier neck, I wondered if maybe they'd sent me the wrong breed and that she could be a he.
