Has anyone built it? We are planning on getting started next week. Any thought or advice? We like the look of the playhouse coop, but my husband wants real plans. The all-in-one coop looks pretty close.

I built the walk in coop from the book. The book is great for explaining how to build the coops. If you like the looks of it and it is big enough for you, I say go for it. Here is my coop:

I did modify a few things (changed the roof, etc) but I used the book for the modifications too.

That looks great! Did you find that your actual costs were close to the estimates?

Actually yes, their estimates were a little on the high side if I remember. I think they priced the walk in around $1000 and that is about what it cost me to build that one. I say the estimate was a little high because I actually built the front 9' tall and I think the plans are for 7' I want to say, but we also saved on making the roof slanted instead of gabled.

We have that book and we actually went to Home Depot last night with the building list for several of the coops. The costs were pretty accurate Of course my DH also said we need to add 25% for first aid, broken saw blades and sheer frustration

Good luck with your coop build!
