Hey everyone, several weeks back I bought some Easter eggers and black australorps and as they get older it’s clear that most if not all of the Easter eggers have beaks that are stuck like a tiny bit open/possibly overgrown. I trimmed a few of them and filed the tips of them and it seemed to help, but several others seem to be getting a tad bit worse. I’m not home now, I’ll attach old pictures and get new ones when I return home. Pictures are only of two chicks that I filed and trimmed a bit. They seemed to have had the worst cases at the time. My question is, is this just a “bad batch”? Like is it a breeding problem? Or am I doing something wrong? They have a chick waterer and a chick feeder with chick feed in their brooder. They are actually in the house now due to some issues with outbuildings I had wanted to put them in, but we will move them out soon.
