Its pretty warm now for my week old EE chicks and they are feathering out good. I switched out the 250 watt brooder bulb for a regular bulb. Is there any reason to leave a light on at night? Seems like they huddle in the shadow of the feeders just to get some sleep out of the direct light.

If they are away from the light, it might mean they are too warm.

You could turn the light off for a couple of hours and set your alarm, wake up to check on them and go from there
