8 to 10 chickens to start

8x4 is good for 8 standard-size hens.

Generous space makes everything easier.

I would suggest you add some mesh to the bottom of your coop, to keep rodents/etc from living underneath the structure. Also, I'd recommend a piece of roof edge flashing to protect that OSB roof panels since the edge is exposed and will get water damaged sooner than later. Good luck!

My hatchery was out of those when I put in my order. I think they are a great breed to have.
