Alone Drake

Hello, i have a Pekin drake who is about 1 and a half years old right now and last year, our female duck died and he has been very lonely since. I know the best option is to buy another duck as they are very social animals, but my parents don't want another duck because they can't stand the poop. I need help on what to do, i do usually play with him, but when i doing my things, he seems to be very lonely and sad. I don't know what to do.

if you can't get another duck and his quality of life seems that poor to you, then maybe it's time to find him a different home?

Well, he does seem active most of his time digging for critters, i do give him treats like peas, and i do play with him so, i don't know, but i actually don't know if he is actually lonely. It just seems to ME that he's lonely.
