I am thinking of installing some galvanised drinkers to replace older cracked plastic drinkers. However I understand you can't administer Apple Cider Vinegar via a galvanised drinker as it can cause corrosion. Does anyone using galvanised drinkers use an alternative to Apple Cider Vinegar or is there a dry form that can be added to their food?

Thanks.

You might be able to spritz it on their food twice daily, just enough that there is some there, but not so much that it soaks it.

You can use it to make their food wet with water, but I wouldn't go overboard with it. Fermented feed has unfiltered mother vinegar in it as a starter, so fermenting their feed would do it. I have a mixture of plastic, rubber, and galvanized water containers. It amazes me that poultry product manufacturers don't make a stainless steel version of the water founts since many people like to put vinegar in their water since you can use vinegar in stainless metal pans safely. I guess it would be too expensive. Stainless dog bowls work.
