Am I a crazy chicken person

Hey guys! I just want to wonder if anyone else is as chicken obsessed as me. I have bought a chicken leash for them, play with them for more than an hour each day and am considering buying a nanny/pet camp for when at school or on vacation. Is this normal? I think I’m scaring my parents.

"Normal" is subjective.

Many people here on BYC treat and love their chickens as pets and many others are fairly detached, but still care for and respect their birds.

Do what makes you happy (as long as you're not hurting anyone/animals and you have the time/energy/resources).

Nothing wrong with being chicken obsessed! I love hanging out with my flock! As for the chicken nanny/camp it might not be absolutely necessary as they're pretty good about taking care of themselves if you leave enough food/water but I completely understand wanting to leave them in good hands

Yeah, I’m not worried about them injuring themselves, I just think it would be good for me to see them every once in a while on vacation. Also, it would be cool to have one that dispenses treats!

I take naps in bed with my rooster while we cuddle. Your behavior is very normal. But, if you start clucking or show signs of feather growth, I would get that checked out

They will be glad to see you when you get back. That is ok, and you do realize you are asking US if this is normal, and surely if you have been here for long, you realize we are questionable about chickens?

But this is a fun hobby that you can probably have all your life. Don't worry about leaving them if they have food and water. They will be waiting for you when you get back.
