Breed? Age? Gender? Will it EVER be safe to hang with the full size Hens?

Care and Feeding tips?

I'd be most grateful if anyone could tell me anything from these photos.

I bought this HEN at the feedstore because SHE sat in my hand like a lovely little Lady bird and the salesman said 100% she was a Hen!.
Then 3 days later SHE started crowing

in a juvenile voice-changing high-pitched croaky little CROW!
Now I think she's a He?

But, he's So Tiny. I bought him with his best friend - also depicted in the pics - and was told that the little one was actually OLDER than the big one. I think this is true due to comb size, but not sure about anything else the feedstore told me...

HELP!
.
I'm not sure I'll ever be able to let this little guy out with the Big Gurls...he's so tiny and I think one of them already pecked off one of the tines on his comb...

What am I???

That is a little cockerel...very cute. I don't know what type. Bantam cockerels are OK with large fowl hens but the hens may not ever let him mate with them. It depends on the hen. I'd let him grow up a bit before combining him with the "pecking" hens if they are injuring him.
