I hatched out these two boys out back on Feb 4th, 2011
Putting them at 10 weeks old and just over 2 months, (more specific 69 days old.)

Not sure what to call them....or their feather pattern for that matter. Kinda like a Buff Barred almost.
The two boys are different, nothing else on my property comes close to these two, except for one hen who is much older, she is very similar in markings and coloration.

It was suggested to me by a few people that they might be EO's. Not 100% sure.... as I have no clue which hen laid these eggs.

Tell me what you think....

The little Basque chickens are pretty rare here in the United States. If you had one I would think you would know. They are mostly in Europe. They originate in Spain, so they would have to be imported into the United States and Canada and I dont think they would be just a random breed that you would get from some where that wasnt a specialty breeder. I have seen a few red barred roosters on here, and they were something......... not Euskal Oiloa, though.

Whered you get your eggs?? Euskal Oiloa's are becoming more and more common in Canada. I would say these are most defiantly EQ's

sweeterdeeter42 and yes people have gotten as mystery eggs

but he said that the hen that they could have come from has similar color and markings as the two young roosters. EO's are sexlink, and the hens are different color than the roosters. If the hen has the same coloring as an EO rooster, then she wouldnt be an EO hen....... It would just be a coincidence.

Hey Johnny! It totally depends on your source of those eggs, they are getting to be around up here. I have this breed in Marraduna since 2008 and did have Gorria for a short time, and they are awesome. Big eggs, good layers and the friendliest breed we`ve ever had!

The eggs came from my own birds.....

I paired up a Columbian Rock Rooster with some hens that I purchased as "Red Sussex" ???
Who knows what is in their blood lines.

All I know is that in less than two weeks, I have some EO hatching eggs arriving, very excited about that.
