Psa, he may not keep that "friendly" personality, in fact he likely won't. Start ignoring him and don't let your kids handle him.
I just read up about this on another thread.
So the idea is not letting him see us as equals or lesser than him in the flock?

ETA I have at least one, maybe two more that I suspect are roos from this hatch. I’ll try to get some pics of them tomorrow.
Would we maybe even be better off keeping one that’s more standoffish?

Usually, yes. No pet treatment, I know they're cute.

Well, we have hens to snuggle anyways 😅
We’ll be giving a roo to my FIL and he’ll want and need a mean ole thing, so maybe this one will be a better fit for him. We need a wimpier guy that won’t attack egg-collecting kiddos.
