No, they are opportunists. They are always going to look for food, I can't walk out of my house without all of them coming running hoping for a tidbit. They will quickly find something else to do when nothing is forthcoming. Chickens don't get their feelings hurt like people do. When dealing with any kind of animal you need to learn what their needs are. Attributing human emotions, needs, etc to animals can often end badly. A chicken should act like a normal chicken, not a normal human.
