OK, so I put a fan into my still air LG last weekend, thus making it a circulated unit. I've been holding steady temps and humidity for a little over a week now.
Humidity is the only thing that has given me even the slightest amount of fits since installing the fan and that's only because I over filled the reservoir by just a bit too much. But, I think that I have that under control too. Right now it's at 65%. I'd like to see that back down around 45-50%. Would this be a better range or is 65% acceptable for days 1-18 as well?
The temperature has remained rock solid for 3 days consecutive now at 99.8 to 100.2 throughout. So, again, from what I read and hear, this is an acceptable range...correct?
I have the auto turner in there and it works flawlessly. Thank heavens! One less thing to think or worry about!
So, all in all....I think...maybe..just maybe...I'm ready to hatch some eggs!!! What do you all think? Am I all thumbs up and ready to rock and roll? Or do I need to get a better handle on the humidity first?
Oh, and the only other thing I can think of that I need at this point is some fertile eggs!! Kinda hard to do when you don't have a roo!
Two people have promised me eggs. The strange thing is, now that I think I'm perfectly ready, they seem to have disappeared.
Where did they go?
One is a neighbor lady whom I've called twice now in the last three days and she hasn't returned my calls. I wonder if maybe she's having second thoughts in turning over her precious eggs to a newbie at hatching? The other is a member here...and since I don't know where exactly in this vast country of ours that she lives, I can only assume that maybe she's stuck in the snow belt right now and without power or internet. I sure hope she's ok! And her little flock too!!
Anybody have a spare dozen or so eggs they'd like to contribute to a first timer??
I'm not picky! So long as they come from egg laying stock, we're in business
DH won't let me have any of the ornamental's.
