Am I selling my chicks overpriced?

Hi I’m selling a variety of chicks

All 3 month old cockerels are 15$ bantams or 2 for 25$

All 3 month old pullets are 20$

All 1-1/2 month old pullets are 20$

All 5 week old cockerels 5$


Is that overpriced I’m factoring in care, handling,supplies,feed ect… I want them to go to good well knowledge homes, and I will give tips for new owners. Is this to much?
Oh and would it be rude to also have a sign for donations for my blind chicken since she has to get medication and electrolytes ect… mostly just to be when their paying just ask would you like to round up to make a donation for a blind chicken? Sort of thing here’s the sign I made I need to make a new one though since she found her companion!

The place I buy from sells male chicks for $5. Straight run chicks are all about $10. Juveniles range from $15-$30. 12 week old pullets range from $30-$60. (Now, these are heritage breeds, so take that into account).

Your prices seem reasonable to me.

I'd say one of the most important things is that people are getting a good quality product from you. Are your chicks vaccinated? Do you have really good biosecurity practices? Are you really sure they're pullets?

If people get good quality chickens from you, they will become loyal. If I bought a $20 pullet from someone and was happy with it, I'd go back.

Bio security has more to do with disease than clean pens (which yes do correlate to an extent but you will see what I mean). It usually means that new birds are quarantined for at least a month with 0 interactions between your flock and new birds. That is the biggest part of bio security. New clothes, new shoes, washed hands, etc. in between the new birds and the existing flock. A lot of people will take care of the new birds after the current ones to minimize how much you have to do between everything.

I sell chicks early spring and late summer usually if I sell them young (1-2 day old chicks) I wing sex them but if I sell them older I hatch ‘em early spring but wait till late summer (this is for specialty breeds)

Don’t wing sex them. Sell them as straight run. Wing sexing is extremely unreliable so you could be turning away potential future buyers by selling something that isn’t actually what you sold it as
