I have two ameracaunas who are both almost 6 months old, they both haven't started laying eggs yet but are both showing sighs of laying, like a red comb/waddel and doing the "chicken squat" I heard it was good luck to post here for eggs and I'm really anxious!

Yay! If they are doing the squat, then it is a matter of days at this point. Usually within one week of the start of squatting, they lay. So keep your eyes peeled for that first egg! Make sure to put some fake eggs in the nest boxes to train them where you want them to lay. If they are free ranging birds, you may have to go on an egg hunt!

Enjoy that first egg!

Amazing! At least 5 minutes after my second post I checked the nesting box and found a smallish green egg! Wow! Just amazing! I kid you not it was 5 minutes after I posted!

That is how it is! I have seen SO many posts just like yours, wondering "where is that first egg"! And many times that same day they post this question, THERE IT IS!!

How EGG-citing!! That first egg is THE most exciting thing. But I still never tire of finding my girls eggs. Like brown treasures in the nest box.

Thanks for sharing!!!
