If I mixed the two chickens? Good or bad idea? Please give me some insite.

I was told not to cross a pea-combed bird with an EE/ameracauna. Since the blue egg gene is closely linked with the comb, you increase your odds of having a brown egg layer instead of blue/green.

EEs and Ameraucanas are pea combed, just like Brahmas. Well, most EEs are pea combed, but being a mixed breed, they can be single combed or have a "wad of chewing gum" comb.

My suggestion is not to put a Brahma rooster over an EE or Ameraucana just due to his sheer size.

Yeah- I was thinking of using a pea combed splash cochin over black EEs. But the pea comb of the brown egg-laying cochin can "cancel out" the blue/green pea comb genes in the EEs. Maybe I just worded it wrong
