I NEED to see pictures of your mature-- at least 9month old--roos. To compare what I have in my coop... No eggs from these four--36-40weeks old. And yesterday, I saw the two EE sparing...Acting very rooish... Haven't heard a crow, haven't seen them try to mount one of the hens, haven't seen them fighting with the 'boss man', tiny combs, no 'sweeping tails' AND yet, I have yet to see one egg. ! I am beginning to think these four are all roos.. I will try to post new pictures of them tomorrow...Thank you Dixie

Not sure if the ones you are puzzling over are bred from your stock or not; but the ones I got from you were on the smaller side and slower to develop their "Rooness" including the saddle feathers and hackles.

you mention their interacting with the other chickens . . . is there a chance they are hiding eggs while free ranging or that you are mistaking their eggs for anothers? also mine are not laying at all right now because of winter.

No eggs--I have a game camera in the coop--they aren't laying in the nest boxes.. They only get to free range for a little while late in the evening--and I watch them all the time. they stay very close to the coop door--unlike the rest of the flock... My Blue Ameraucana will come and cuddle with me IF I have food.. the others stay very close..

Thanks everyone
