I have what is supposed to be an Aneraucana hen. It never crows, so I'm pretty sure it's a hen. She is between 6-7 months old and has yet to lay an egg. All my other hens of the same age (different breeds) have been laying for over a month. Is this normal?

I'd say so - maybe its just a late developer. I had 3 hens from the same hatch and there was a month lag between the first one laying and the last one deciding to do so.

Yes, Ameraucanas and EE's are known to be a little later. I have a friend who has had them start as late as 9 months. I know, no fun to wait. I have a couple out there that could start at 5 or 6 months, but I know to wait. :/

I know it's hard to wait but that will be worth it when you get that first egg from her! Be patient, she'll lay when she's ready

Thanks for joining us, it's nice to have you here.

Most likely your hen is an Easter Egger (which are often confused with Ameraucanas) And yes, both tend to mature late, I have some EE pullets that are 6+ months old and have yet to start laying.
