I have a blue ameraucana cockerel that I raised from my blue hen and white rooster. All the blacks have nice, dark slate legs. This blue's legs are much more light. I've been thinking it was a crossbred, but really that's impossible. Thoughts? Why would the leg color be more of a grey?

It doesn't look like a mix to me :) It's legs are a bit less pigmented, but the skin is still white like an Ameraucana should have. I would guess it's just natural variation. Here's a Blue Ameraucana from the club's website that has legs on the lighter sideView attachment 2594018
Oh good!! Thanks so much. He'll be a keeper

Blue is a dilute gene. It can have a diluting effect on the shanks as well.
