most stores/Hatcheries do as they don't know the difference. you'd have to buy Amerucanas from a breeder.

And in my experience they do not like it when you suggest that what they are selling as Ameraucanas simply aren't. I can't blame them. It's a hard concept to grasp: that you can cross a pure Ameraucana with another pure Ameraucana and not get an Ameraucana? Boggles the mind....

It's worse than that actually. They don't have Ameraucana in the first place.

So the store she got her from is selling EE as AMR. That's sad.

Thanks for you help. And she's an awesome chicken regardless, I was just confused after seeing the difference in eggs.

my feed store did the same. I don't blame the store, they may not have known what they were getting. Sold as AMR but were EE. I actually love her. I only wanted the colored eggs...
