Ameraucanas?

We got two "ameraucanas" from a feed store near us. The husband isn't so sure that's what they really are. Can any one help id what breeds these two may be? We are brand new to having chickens so our knowledge is limited. Thanks!

If you got them from a feed store they are almost certainly not Ameraucanas but are probably what we call Easter Eggers or EE’s. EE’s are not really a breed but a type. They have a chance to lay blue or green eggs if you got females. There is no guarantee they will lay blue or green eggs, just a chance they might.

Here is a link that gives a comparison between the Araucana and Ameraucana which are recognized breeds and the EE’s. EE’s really can be about anything.

Easter eggers make great chickens even though they are mutts I have both ameraucana and EE
