Hi, we have a five-month old TS “Americana” (can’t remember how they spelled it but EE or whatever) who I am suddenly confused about their gender. No eggs or squatting yet. Some reddening of the comb. Also no crowing. She has pretty severe crossbeak but has been gaining weight still and filling her crop with wet, fermented scratch and regular trims. My mom just said the neck feathers might be roo. Is she right?? Thanks for your help!

Great!! Thanks. Never had americanas before and was getting confused. I imagine 5 months especially young for laying because she is still a little small, has to spend all day eating with her beak. Thanks again. I will let my mom know. 😉

You're welcome.
Some birds lay at 20 weeks or before but ees aren't usually one of them, they're a bit finicky.
